Hi, we are back today with an awesome episode of The #MARCUMsold Show! Brrrr!  It’s cold out there! Today I’m sharing my top 5 super easy tips to prepare your home for the winter.  These tips will ensure you stay warm and cozy all winter long!

Get your fireplace/chimney inspected.  You could be letting in that cold winter air if it’s not in tip top shape.

Drain and unscrew all of your hoses.  If not, you might come out to busted hoses and pipes.

Cover your spigots.  They need to stay warm during the winter too! We love these covers.

Get all your windows and doors sealed on the inside and outside.  This will really help with energy costs throughout the winter.

Stock up on winter essentials. Battery back ups, propane heaters and other winter essentials will help tremendously if there is an ice storm and you lose power!

Keep these tips in mind as we head into the winter months and you’ll be sure to stay warm and be prepared!

Susan has reviewed over 10,000 (!) credit reports in her life, so she is a wealth of knowledge and has some great information about why your credit score matters when purchasing a home.

Credit scores affect:

1. Your interest rate.

2. The type of loan you are able to get (which affects your overall payment)

3. Your PMI which is a fee that is added to your monthly payment. If you can tweak your credit score, it can drop your PMI payment significantly. 

Knowing where your credit score is at is a super important step in the home buying process. The sooner we can start to repair your credit score, the sooner you'll be ready to purchase your home!

Hi, we are back today with an awesome episode of The #MARCUMsold Show! Today, I'm sharing my top 3 tips for getting your kitchen ready when it's time to sell your home. These tips are sure to get you top dollar on the sale of your home!

1.  If your kitchen needs updating, either focus on your appliances OR your countertops. One or the other. Buyers are turned off when they think they would need to update both themselves. Save the sale by updating one of them for them.

2. Clear off all of the countertops. A bare looking kitchen is what buyers want to see!

3. Make sure that your oven is clean on the top and the inside. Buyers are going to inspect it and if they see that it looks dingy or dirty, they'll get a bad impression of the house.

Kitchens and baths are what sell houses, so it's so important that you get them ready before you list your home!
