A Guide to Community Events in Madison County!
Here are some of the MARCUMsold Team's favorite things to do in-and-around Madison County, KY!
What: EKU Homecoming and Reunion Weekend
Where: EKU, 521 Lancaster Ave, Richmond
When: October 4th & 5th, 10AM-11PM
Details: We have a full calendar of exciting events planned throughout Homecoming & Reunion Weekend. Join us as we gather for food, fun, laughter, and shared memories here at The Campus Beautiful.
The EKU Homecoming Committee, together with the International Alumni Association and EKU Athletics, is pleased to showcase its lineup of annual, signature events for Homecoming 2019. These events include the Colonel Corn Roast, Homecoming Parade, Young Alumni Party, Alumni Awards and Pioneer Brunch, Homecoming Tailgate and Football Game, and more!
But that's not all! Many other organizations are hosting events throughout the weekend - from alumni reunions to tailgate festivities there's something for everyone to enjoy! What: Millstone Park Ribbon Cutting
Where: 239 West Main Street, Richmond
When: October 5th, 10AM-11AM
Details: The community is invited to join the City of Richmond as we re-open the newly completed Millstone Park. Come out and be one of the first to walk through and discover the history of millstones that were used and gathered from Madison County and the surrounding region.
The park is located between U.S. Bank and Allstate Insurance on Main Street, across the street from Family Dollar.


What: Humane Society ALL Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction
Where: Madison Central High School, 705 N. 2nd Street, Richmond
When: Saturday, October 12th, 5PM-8PM
Details: Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Madison Central High School Cafeteria. Tickets are at the door and are $12 for adults and $5 for children. Event will include all you can eat dinner with tossed salad, spaghetti (meat or veggie sauces to choose from), garlic bread, drinks and Lee's Cobbler and ice cream (if you like) for dessert. Silent auction items, donated from all around the community will be available to bid on, and also a buy in now table so you can snag your items and run! We will also host some fun raffles and be sharing information about the Humane Society Animal League for Life. This event is hosted by volunteers, assisted by the Madison Central Humane Society Club, and generously sponsored by donations. This is a fundraiser to help the animals of Madison County, KY, so please come out and show support. Programs include no-kill Rescue and Adoption Program, Trap/Neuter/Return, and Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinics.

What: Blue Grass Army Depot MWR, Trunk or Treat
Where: 1546 Battlefield HWY, Richmond
When: Friday, October 18th, 5:30-7:00PM
Details: πYup, it's about that time again! Trunk or Treat is coming up! Join us at Battlefield Park (weather permitting) for another year π

Interested in decorating a trunk to support your community or advertise your business? Entrees are $10.00 and prizes will be awarded to the best decorated trunk! All trunks are responsible for supplying their own candy

What: White Hall Paranormal Investigation
Where: 500 White Hall Shrine Road, Richmond
When: Saturday, October 19th, from 8PM-12AM
Details: Please join us for our annual public investigation of White Hall State Historic Site. This plantation house was originally built in the late 1700's and now stands at over 10K square feet. Last year we had personal experiences throughout all 7 levels. Don't let the magnificent appearance of this place deceive you as events of the past still keeps its History Alive today.

What: Halloween Hoe-Down
Where: Downtown, Richmond
When: Thursday, October 24th, 6:00PM-8:00PM
Details: The Halloween Hoe-Down is a family friendly event designed for children 10 and under!
The festival will begin at 6:00pm and continue until 8:00pm. Free Activities include Kids Games and Prizes, Contests, Inflatables, a Petting Zoo, Walk Around Characters, and More!


Trick-or-Treat hours in Madison County, City of Richmond, and City of Berea are from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Thursday, October 31, 2019.


What: Library book sale
Where: Madison County Public Library. 507 W Main Street, Richmond
When: Saturday, November 2nd, 9AM-6PM
Details: Weβre celebrating the opening of the Richmond branch by having our fall book sale just at this location! Members of the Friends of the Library be on the lookout for a special announcement coming soon.
